It means 2 out of 3 congregation elders who can't read your heart, can't understand your motives, know very little about your past and what you have been through in your life decided that you were unrepentant for an act that is covered under the Judicial Law Code set forth by the WTBTS. Typically, you do the crime, you do the time.

What does Disfellowshiping really mean?
by nolongerconfused innot sure if i spelled the word right, but:.
as some of you probably know i'm no longer active and have stopped attending etc...etc.... if one is disfellowshipped for whatever reason, including not agreeing with wtb doctrine...does the wtbs consider you worthy of death come armageddon?
i saw the trial transcript and that's what they believed in the 50's...anyone have any recent quote from their publications explaining how they see a disfellowshipped person?.

Sickening Dilemma
by ItsMyLife ini would like to have your opinions on what i should do about a situation please.. i have recently discovered that a 'brother' in the congregation (which i no longer attend) is a child molester.
i've seen documentation from his psychiatrist dated a few years ago, stating that he doesn't feel that this person is likely to offend again.
the 'brother' has said to the elders at some point that he has it under control but cannot be 100% sure it won't happen again.

Wow, IML....
As a person whose family (and several girls I know) has been deeply affected by predators within the congregation and family "friends", I applaud you and implore you to follow through. The police are a good start, but based on my experience even with the law, you may need to find another way to let that poor woman know who she is marrying.........the elders will be of no help, and perhaps would just accuse you of slandering the guy (EVEN THOUGH HE IS GUILTY)
I personally feel these people cannot be completely rehabilitated - at least in the sense that that urge and temptation will always be with him - and he is going to be like an alcoholic in a brewery with that little girl around. What happens the first night he "babysits" the kids.....It makes me sick just thinking about it.
You are doing the right thing - best wishes with your efforts.....

I was an elder for 10 years.
I resigned over the pedophilia policies, the lack of love-based shepherding, the crime and punishment mentality of judicial committees, and the feeling of being a member of the Pharasees. I simply gave the body a 2 minute speech stating none of the above, but quoted 1 Peter 5:2 and stated that my wife and I agreed that I would no longer serve as an elder, since I felt I was doing it under compulsion...."for the wrong reasons"
We were nothing more than rule enforcers and puppets for the WT - a bible trained Christian conscience only presented more and more ethical dilemnas when you realized the impact you could have on people's lives, but were powerless to apply your own loving-kindness and feelings.

What is the most out of line / disturbing experience you have seen from Circuit Overseers?
by Poindexter Lionel Humperdique ini once heard of a circuit overseer blaming a loyal ministerial servant, that served as the accounts servant, of steeling from the contribution boxes, simply because he deposited the congregation funds bi-weekly instead of twice a week.
due to the accusation, the ms was immediately removed without hearing his side of the story.
isn't this rather counter-intuitive and innefficient?

Dear Brothers,
We are excited to announce our new program for those wish to Pioneer but due to unforseen circumstances, are limited in their participation in the ministry. Therefore, for the Memorial Season of 2014, the Auxillary Pioneer requirement will be 15 minutes of Field Service. Please be assured of our warm Christian Love (TM). Why did you pick the name you have now
by label licker injust wondering if your name describes what you saw, how you were treated when you were "in" or now "out", maybe your personality, ect.... i'm label licker and the why i picked this name was because of all the licking up one side of elders and down the other to either be an elder or ministerial servant.
one time i was standing right in front of this brother who wasn't made an ms yet and he totally ignored me and talked right over my head speaking really loud trying to catch the co's attention.. got sick of watching the poor elderly sitting all alone or standing against the wall like a wall flower with noone to talk to and yet all these label lickers would take turns picking up the elders elderly parents and take them shopping and do their groceries at least four times a week while out in service, yet, there was noone there to take a meal to a sister who just got out of the hospital with a heart attack.
when i had shown up at her apartment with a meal she asked if i could wash her private and change her bandages.

The story of Bo Juel Jensen - the man behind the Anti-Watchtower media campaign in Norway
by cedars inhi guys.
richard e. kelly has kindly contributed a great article to jwsurvey.org on the link below.... http://jwsurvey.org/child-abuse-2/bo-juel-jensen-could-he-be-watchtowers-worst-nightmare.
richard tells the story of bo juel jensen, an ex-witness who has been doing marvellous work in raising awareness of watchtower child abuse mishandling in norway.. as with most child abuse victims, bo's story is a disturbing one.

Unbelievable....
His story is so sad and tragic, yet Bo has a strength and human spirit that cannot be stopped!
I have heard similar stories to Bo's, and they just make me so sad for all of the victims who never got the help and comfort they deserve.
Thankfully, Bo has the strength and courage to fight this battle. I support him 100%.
My first "protest" was to resign as an elder and become inactive.
Hearing Bo's story, this little voice tells me that I didn't do enough - I need to join the vocal minority to expose just how far reaching this problem is. There was a molester in every congregation I attended in my lifetime (6).......isn't that just disgusting??

We had a CO who was one of the biggest pompous asses I have ever met.
On his first visit, his whole 45 minute talk was about him and his wife - what they had done, all of their family in Bethel, etc......not one word of "encouragement" to the hall....just all about how wonderful and super-fine he was.....I had met them when I was a little kid since they were Special Pioneers in the area a few years prior to going into the Circuit work.
Then, to conclude his talk he said "Instead of us going around the congregation and meeting all of you, my wife and I will stand at the front of the hall after the concluding prayer so YOU can approach us and YOU can introduce yourself."
I remember asking my Dad (who was an elder, couldnt stand him, and was deleted by a Kangaroo court a few months later) "Should we also go up and kiss his ring?" ....... Needless to say, we didn't go up and greet him that night.

I found this paragraph in the Watchtower study to be so ridiculous and offensive......
by Pyramid Scheme inusually i read through the study article for the week to see if there are good points of discussion with my family.. when i read this paragraph, i nearly fell off my chair.
this is complete and utter garbage.
i have had discussions with my wife and other family members who also agreed it was complete rubbish.

God decides through the elders then 7 days are given for appeal.
Great point, punkofnice!
When i was an elder, I always struggled with that whole arrangement. It had no scriptural basis, was more complicated than the judicial courts of the government, and the appeal process just prolonged the inevitable for the poor person who was to be disfellowshipped.
I never once saw a successful appeal....Even though as an elder, I helped a friend of mine prepare one once! I thought we had an airtight case to get the DF overturned......I was wrong. That was the case that opened my eyes and began my journey out the door.
You said it all....it comes down to CONTROL......
